Hi guys! Welcome to Running up a Mountain!! I’m Sierra and I am here to help y’all reach your goals while learning to love the journey, process, and climb. In order to fully appreciate the view, you need to appreciate the climb just as much! So many individuals want to reach the top of their mountain and have a great view, but are not willing to take the first step and endure the obstacles and climb. BUT……that does not have to be you! After reading my blogs, you can learn how to appreciate the climb and reach the top of your mountain.

Whether the top of your mountain is to live a healthier life, be more productive, or reach your fitness goals, I will be here along your climb, helping you throughout your journey! You will learn to appreciate the climb just as much as the view and enjoy the process that is needed to reach your goals.

In order to start your climb, you need to take the first step. The first step to reach the top of your mountain is to find out what is at the top of your mountain! Think about what you want to accomplish and succeed when you reach the top. Then, take the first step.

Find your goal. Take the first step. Appreciate the climb.

-Journaling

I think a great way to get your mindset in the right place is to journal. The journal above, I really recommend, and you can find it on Amazon.

-Drink your Water and Fuel Yourself

Drinking water and eating will make you feel so much better. It’s so important to make sure that you are drinking enough water and eating nutritious meals.

-Affirmations

Go to the mirror right now and say that you are AMAZING! Seriously, go do it!! It is game changer.

-Do Something You Love

Whether it’s exercising, watching Netflix, or gardening, try to do something every day that you enjoy doing. Don’t just work 24/7 and do nothing you like. It’s important to live a life that you look forward to living! ❤

-Smile

Smile, it’s important 🙂

-Meditate

Meditate on all of the good, everything you love about yourself, and things you’re grateful for. It’s a great way to clear your head and get a thankful heart.

-Be Present

Don’t think about the past and don’t worry about the future. Way easier said than done; I’m not the best at this :(. But, it’s important to be present. Think about today, not yesterday or tomorrow.

Self love is not being SO hard on yourself, accepting your flaws because they make you unique, and being content with YOU! It’s doing what makes you happy, not changing for others, and being patient with yourself. Self love is very important and you should always try to practice it. Tip #1

-STOP COMPARING YOUSELF

This is SO important. When you compare yourself to others, you can start to think you are less of an amazing person then you actually are!

-DON’T WORRY ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF YOU

I know, it can be really hard to not care about other’s opinions, even I struggle with it sometimes. But it’s important to understand people are going to judge you no matter what you do. If they’re talking bad about you behind your back, just realize they are behind you for a reason. Keep being you! ❤

I’m totally not the best at doing this, but don’t be so hard on yourself! Acknowledge that you are trying your best. Sometimes, it’s completely ok to not do it all. You are already doing amazing!

Never Give Up on Yourself

Hi guys! How was y’all’s week? In this blog post, I am going to be talking about why you should never give up on yourself! This is basically a part 2 from last week’s post where I explained why you should never give up on your goals! If you haven’t read that post, go read it after you read this one! You Can!

Life is filled with moments where you think you aren’t good enough and that you can’t accomplish your goals and be your best self. There are going to be moments when you feel like you failed and the best thing to do is give up. Your mind will constantly tell you that you can’t do this and you won’t achieve this. Don’t listen.

Yes, you will have many setbacks and obstacles in life. Sometimes you will try your absolute hardest to do something, and you will still fail. You’ll try hard again. And still fail. Success is hard. But that doesn’t mean you just give up on yourself and stop believing in your abilities and talents. Instead, you use that as motivation. Motivation to keep on working hard, motivation to keep on trying, and motivation to keep on pushing yourself.

It does not matter if no one believes you can. All that matters is that YOU believe you can. If no one thinks you can do it, do it anyways. Refuse to give up on yourself, and then your goals won’t give up on you. You CAN and WILL do amazing things if you just believe in yourself! And remember, you are stronger than you think you are.

Never Give Up on Your Goals

It’s a slow process but quitting WON’T speed it up.

Ok, so we’ve been in 2021 for almost 3 weeks. Those goals that you set in the beginning of the year may have already became a distant memory. You might have already pushed them to the back of your mind. You might have already given up on your goals. If that’s you, then keep on reading!

It can be VERY hard to want to keep on working to achieve your goals especially if you aren’t seeing any changes. But guess what. The goals you want to accomplish TAKE TIME! It may take weeks, months, or maybe even a year for you to accomplish your goal. But just because it will take time, does not mean you should give up on them! If you give up on your goals, then you will be right back to where you started.

It takes time to be where you want to be in life. It takes time to achieve your goals. It takes time to be your absolute best self. But nothing worth having ever comes easy. Never give up on your goals!

How to Achieve a Positive Mindset

My Tips

If you want to have a positive mindset, these tips are for you!

-Journaling

Write down all the good and what you are grateful for every day. This will help you realize that there is SO much good in your life and in the world. I try to do this every morning and it really helps me start my day with a positive mindset.

-Positive Self Talk

It is very important to make sure that the voice in your head is telling you positive things instead of negative! Instead of saying, “I can’t do this”, say, “I am not able to do this YET.” Saying that will help you realize that just because you aren’t able to do something today, doesn’t mean you won’t be able to do it tomorrow or the next day. Positive self talk= Positive Mindset

-Surround yourself with Positive People

Surround yourself with people who are positive and optimistic rather than negative! Be with people who bring you up rather than tear you down. By doing this, you’ll be around more positivity leading you to eventually be positive and have the right mindset!

-Understand that You Can’t Change your Circumstances

The only thing you can change in your life is how you react to your circumstances. Not everything will always go as planned or turn out how you wanted it to. Once you realize you have little control on what is happening, you’ll realize it is best to just be positive no matter what. It can be very hard to understand this, and it takes time, but once you learn this you’ll be so much happier and positive!

Why Mindset is Everything

Postive vs. Negative

Mindset is all of your thoughts, ideas, and conceptions all jumbled together. All of those things contribute to how you view your life. So basically, positive thoughts = positive life.

People with a positive mindset typically end up being more successful and are able to achieve their goals easier. When obstacles come their way, they stay optimistic and hopeful.

When you have a negative mindset, it is usually harder to have a better perspective on life. It can be harder to achieve a successful life with a negative outlook because when something doesn’t go as planned, you quickly lose hope and give up.

It can be hard to look at the difficulties in life and still have an optimistic mindset. Hardships occur during your life and it is easier to focus on the bad rather than the good. It seems simpler to have a negative mindset. What if though, you have a negative mindset but you want a positive mindset?

Well then guess what? It’s YOUR MIND!! You are the only one who can change your thoughts and how you view certain things. Thoughts are very powerful and can determine your whole life. But at the end of the day, they are in your mind and you can change your mind.

So whenever you want to change your mindset, thoughts, and perspective to be more positive, just know that you CAN! Change your mindset to focus on the positive and good rather than the bad.
